How to buy a trench coat for the winter | NFL.com

A long winter coat is just what it sounds like, with long coats made of durable polyester.
The winter coat may be the most versatile item on the NFL team’s roster, with players such as Adrian Peterson and Marshawn Lynch able to wear the same coat in different weathers.
However, there are some drawbacks.
While the long coat can stay warm and dry, it’s not waterproof and will not protect your head in the event of an accidental fall.
A trench coat has a waterproof zipper, but it is not a true coat.
It can be waterproofed for up to 100 yards (60 meters) but only if you are using the hood or vents to get the air out of your coat.
A long trench coat is also not as warm as a long coat, especially for the warmer months.
A full-length trench coat (over 2 feet (1.8 meters) in length) will warm you up in the winter, but only up to 20 degrees Fahrenheit (12 degrees Celsius) or 4 degrees Celsius (6 degrees Fahrenheit) below zero.
The average temperature in the lower 50 states is 10 degrees Fahrenheit (-5.6 degrees Celsius).
A trench jacket will keep you warm enough to play in the coldest temperatures, but will not keep you cool in the summer.
